Yummy!! Very good coffee and creative food. Japanese Stand out was the side of Cha Siu (pork belly) Rather expensive side at $7.5 for four thin slices. But it was absolutely delicious! All our other dishes were also quite good. Japanese fusion cafe.

Number 1 Melbourne brunch place - better than Kettle Black, Higher Ground, Operator 25. Cannot believe how they stay under the radar. They always rotate their menu. I have tried the bagel with matcha cream cheese and pear crumbles, amazing. The brioche French Toast with Matcha cream cheese, red bean paste, fresh fruits, fruit chips, and coconut & honey nuts - sensational flavour and looks so instagrammable! For savoury options, the scrambled eggs on brioche and wide range of toasties are always amazing. Coffee is top notch. Brought a friend who was visiting from overseas, she has tried Melbourne top brunches and said this is the best. Really convenient location right across the Fairfield train station.

Have you tried Japanese Teishoku before? This traditional meal consists of rice, a protein main and many little side dishes that all come together in a set. Tetsudo have all your Teishuko cravings sorted! We tried: Aburi Salmon Donburi Japanese Eel Donburi Umami Fries w/ Chilli Mayo Assorted Sashimi Japanese Cheesecake Iced Matcha Strawberry Iced Matcha All of the Teishuko sets come with your choice of main and then an assortment of sides, which change depending on what is in season. Our sides for the day were maki, braised vegetables, tamagoyaki, Japanese pickles, tempura prawn and veggies, rice and miso soup. The eel was so tender and flavourful and came with a fluffy egg on rice, while the aburi salmon was melt in your mouth tender, seasoned with teriyaki sauce. There were so many sides I couldn’t even finish my meal! The sashimi was really nice and fresh and we loved the fries, which were crunchy and very umami! The cheesecake was a little dry for our liking and the strawberry matcha was our favourite out of the two drinks! Really enjoyed our feed here!

First time trying out Railway 9 for a spot of brunch especially being drawn their by the Japanese influence. Was really looking forward to trying out the milk bread sandwiches, which was unfortunately not the menu. None the less we ordered the eggplant donburi, super avocado and the umami fries. Straight off the bat the eggplant donburi was absolutely delicious, full of umami flavour and paired extremely well with the accompanying salads and miso soup. A must try. Super avocado was really well presented with the saltiness of the whipped ricotta pairing extremely well. Only comments are the bread appears to be buttered after toasting so it was soggy and dripping with butter, texture was not too pleasant with the sliced avocado but couldn't fault it flavour wise. Umami fries with the seasoning and sauce worked really well, although fries could have been cooked a bit more for our liking Overall a pleasant spot for brunch and definitely keen to try some of the other dishes in the future

What we had here are high-quality healthy meals. We heard the chefs have extensive experience in fine dining before creating their signature brunch cafe. Portions are generous, keep that in mind. Good coffee, good food and good memories from here. Will visit again 100%.
